The Grifalco Crossbow of Massa Marittimo

The battle (match) takes place at night on the 2nd Sunday of August and the 4th Sunday of May.

The contesters  come face to face in a century old challenge for the ability of firing the crossbow.

Before the competition begins there is a parade with medieval costumes.  The participants of this parade belong to the famous flag waving group of Massa Marittima.
